BUNNY Equipment
Your Bunny, unless your breeder says so, needs to live indoors in an Indoor cage. Get one made of wire. Wood Cages/Hutches will absorb urine smell and is not recommended for indoor use.
A WIRE BOTTOM CAGE is Preferable, but a Flat Bottom Plastic Bottom Cage is fine too. The LARGER the better! Bunnies should NOT be kept in its cage All the time. It needs to socialize with you, get exercise and have a fun, meaningful life.

Your Bunny Needs Clean Water, Buy a bunny water bottle, attached to the side of the cage. Get a Plastic bottle not glass. Amazon & Chewy.com sell the Lixit brand we use & love.

FEEDING BOWL - Purchase a Non tip stainless steel bowl (4 oz.) or a Round Crock ceramic FOOD bowl for your bunny.
Or the 2 in 1 feeder pictured here. It holds the food in the front and the hay in the back. If you use this product or any bowl- clean it daily! Baby bunnies like to eat out the food then snuggle in it. So check for poop or urine - and disinfect, wash & dry any feeder you use regularly. Do NOT use bleach or ammonia to clean out any rabbit product.

Small Animal Corner Potty WITH A WIRE COVER ON IT. The wire or plastic on top of the potty is ESSENTAIL - it keeps the poop and urine away from your bunnys fur . You can put a very SMALL amount of bedding in the potty to absorb the urine - THIS NEEDS TO BE CLEANED DAILY AND IS EASY TO DO. GIVE IT A RINSE WITH WATER AFTER CLEANING IT, DRY IT WITH PAPER TOWELS, ADD A PINCH OF BEDDING & RETURN IT TO THE CAGE. Amazon & pet stores sell this. Urine is the ONLY thing that SMELLS with owning a bunny, so clean this frequently.A trick I have is - put the potty near the food bowl. The bunny will sit on the potty while eating, and poop in the potty at the same time!! An easy training method!
A LARGE cage is great for Dwarfs since they are playful and active. You can use this type of cage with a PAN Plastic Bottom with Shavings filling the bottom, like this one. Daily cleaning to clean up the urine and poo is recommended. Urine is the only thing that smells - not the poop and not the bunny. This cage is HARDER to keep clean, so I personally recommend the 4 cages Below with the pull out trays.

Cages that do not have roofs on them are meant to be used Indoors only. The benefit of a wire floor cage is that the poop and urine drop down to a removable pan that is easy to pull out and clean. Keeping your bunny very clean. A small amount of bedding is put in the bottom tray for absorption and spot cleaned daily.

2) Petco.com OnLine Only, has one WITHOUT a Urine Guard. They have another one with taller legs that some customers liked! Some people like the large open feeling of this enclosure instead of a cage. Make sure your floors are protected with waterproof mats. Do NOT EVER use Disposable wee wee pads around a bunny, the bunny will chew on it, choke and unfortunately die.
This 36" OR 48" tall wire X-pen (Exercise Pen) can be used Indoors to let your bunny safely hop around. The taller the better!! You can put it on a tile floor or with newspaper for the bunny to play in. Use it Indoors and Outdoors. Chewy.com seem to have the best prices that I found, and other supplies carry this cage. Get the model with the "Walk In Door" for easy access.
It can also be used Outdoor with Supervision Only. Place on a cool surface and in the SHADE. Never keep bunny in the full sun, and never leave your bunny unattended outside - a hawk, racoon, opossum, cat, dog or other animal can easily attack it. Sitting in Direct, baking sun will kill your bunny. Always keep your bunny in a cool, shaded area. Bunnies prefer cool over heat.
Please make sure that your grass has not been fertilized or had weed chemicals put on it, that would make the grass your bunny is nibbling on poisonous to your rabbit. If you have this issue put the bunny on a shaded concrete or wooden deck outside in this x-pen. Do not feed bunnies weeds - they may be poisonous to your bunny. Remember bunnies dig and will dig under this if put on the grass - so constant supervision is needed.
